Ixone Sádaba

Bilbao, Spain | 1977

Graduated in Fine Arts from the University of the Basque Country in 2001, she later obtained an MA at the Antonio Lebrija University in Madrid (2001) and graduated from the Postgraduate Program of the International Center of Photography in New York (2005). She is currently preparing her doctoral thesis for Goldsmiths University in London. Awarded with the 2011 Generations Award for the project «La Nuit Americaine» and a finalist for the Sovereing Art Foundation Award 2012 among others, Ixone has exhibited in international museums such as the Guggenheim Bilbao, the Reina Sofía Museum, the MOCCA Contemporary Art Museum in Toronto and the Museum of Contemporary Art, New Orleans. Her work is present in the collections of the Guggenheim Bilbao, the MNCARS, ARTIUM, the MUSAC, Iberdrola, the BBK, the Community of Madrid, etc., as well as in numerous private collections.

Licenciada en Bellas Artes en la Universidad del País Vasco en 2001, cursó posteriormente el MA en la Universidad Antonio Lebrija en Madrid (2001) y el Postgraduate Program del Internacional Center of Photography de New York (2005). Actualmente prepara su tesis doctoral para la Goldsmiths University de London. Galardonada con el Premio Generaciones 2011 por el proyecto “La Nuit Americaine” y finalista del Premio Sovereing Art Foundation 2012 entre otros, Ixone ha expuesto en museos internacionales como el Guggenheim Bilbao, el Museo Reina Sofía, el MOCCA Contemporary Art Museum de Toronto o el Museum of Contemporary Art de Nueva Orleans. Su obra está presente en las colecciones del Guggenheim Bilbao, el MNCARS, ARTIUM, el MUSAC, Iberdrola, el BBK, la Comunidad de Madrid, etc., además de en numerosas colecciones privadas.
